Dr. Jonny Woodrow is the Director of the Porterbrook Network, which trains congregations and leaders for planting and growing gospel-centered churches. Jonn planted and leads a congregation of The Crowded House (TCH) in the Midlands in the UK. TCH is a missional church planting initiative, reaching people of other faiths, and difficult to reach communities. Before turning to planting, pastoring and training leaders, Jonny lectured in Psychology at Loughborough University. He is co-author of Ascension: Humanity in the Presence of God. He is married to Ruth and they have four children.
I’m not against strategies and tools. But what I’ve learned in the last few years is that Jesus hasn’t hidden anything from us. He is not at the Father’s side hoping we are clever enough to unlock the mystery of a healthy church.
If we saw holiness as the miracle that it is, I think it would become a topic of conversation accompanied by joy, encouragement, and a sense of opportunity. It would lead to a renewed vision for the church in your neighbourhood.
