Matthew Emerson

Matthew Y. Emerson (Ph.D., Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) is Dickinson Associate Professor of Religion at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is the author of Christ and the New Creation (Wipf and Stock, 2013), Between the Cross and the Throne (Lexham, 2015), The Story of Scripture (B&H Academic, 2017), and “He Descended to the Dead”: An Evangelical Approach to Holy Saturday (IVP Academic, forthcoming 2019), along with a number of essays and articles. Matthew is also, along with R. Lucas Stamps, the co-executive director of the Center for Baptist Renewal, and serves as a committee member for the Scripture and Hermeneutics Seminar.
