Trey Bechtold

Trey Bechtold is Assistant Director of Online Studies and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Trey graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. At Oklahoma State, he met and married Alexis (2001). He then pursued and received his Master of Divinity degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies with and emphasis in Old Testament from Midwestern Seminary. Trey was previously the Program Coordinator for Religion at Park University. Sometimes ‘I Don’t Know’ Is The Right Answer by Trey Bechtold

Like Job and his friends, I am often tempted to explain God’s actions through the lens of my assured theological assumptions. I am afraid of saying “I don’t know” to tough questions. But the book of Job makes me less quick to offer assured answers.
