Day 2 – Commitment to your Calling

The calling to commit your life to pastoral ministry is one that often takes time to process, discern, and pursue. The pastorate is a noble and honorable calling and one the Bible speaks about often. Today, take some time to consider how easy it may be for pastors to question their calling and that the Lord may renew a pastor’s heart towards their calling:

• Remembrance of original calling
• Continued desire to serve in ministry
• Passion for their calling, instead of indifference
• To live out that calling in the church and in their lives

Prayer Prompt

Lord, I pray that my pastor (for a church member)/ I (as a pastor) will remember the calling you placed on their heart to serve the church. In doing so, I pray that brings a renewed sense of calling and clarity in their lives so that they may faithfully and joyfully serve the church with all their might. Give them the strength to pursue their pastoral calling so that your Word may be known…
